Lots of rain today

Another week and how fast they go by. We have had cold but sunny weather all week until today. Apparently it was very icy north of us and in Ottawa but mild and wet here.

Yesterday was a busy day. Went to the pool in the morning then laundry then to play bridge by 1 and after that home, and a fast dinner then to help at the blood donor clinic. I sure was bone tired by 9.30 so the bed was a welcome resting place. Today was a free day.

Don bought a digital camera about a month ago. In came in a big box and the parts have been sitting on the table till today. I brought them to the computer room and 'said come on we are getting this thing up and running. He sat at the computer and I read the instructions. The instructions on the computer were simple enough and now it is getting the battery charged. We are leaving tomorrow morning, after we do our volunteer work at the dialysis clinic, for the city and the camera hopefully will be ready to take pictures. This camera also has a printer so we can print any pictures that are suitable as well as show them on the screen. From the instructions it should do everything but sweep the kitchen floor.

Next Wed the Red Hatters will be attending a St Patricks afternoon tea at our church and hopefully Don can take my picture in my new get up. We are to dress in as much green as possible along with our red hats. I decided I needed something green, forgetting I have a green skirt and jacket in the cupboard, so went to our Giant Tiger store early on Tuesday and on the reduced rack there was a vivid green top that had been reduced from $39. to $3. The clerk looked around and found a lined green broomstick skirt with sparkles all over it that had been marked at $ 40. and it was down to $3. Even at 3 I wouldn't have bought it as it is rather garish but for this it will be OK. It is the same crazy green. There were no green sox but I will wear my pair of red fishnet panty hose with the outfit. My red shoes will make a fashion statement. My daughter-in-laws mother sent me a fur stole from Ireland, where she lives, so that should dress up the whole ensemble. My red hat has a yard of red tulle over it along with several lovely artificial coloured flowers. Sounds neat, eh?

We are going to a daughters place in the city as the family is having a 50th birthday party for our son-in-law on saturday. Not sure what it all entails but I think bowling is for the afternoon. Don't understand it all but apparently the bowling is done with strobe lights going off and on. Will have to write about that later. I have made a large shepherds pie for tomorrow night as there will be 7 of us. The daughter has a day job but sure goes all out for a party. I figured she might need someone to povide dinner for a change.

The camera batteries are now charged so Don is reading what to do next. His work was as an engineer so one would think a little thing like a camera would be duck soup to figure out.

It is now near 9 p.m. so must pack a few things for the weekend.
